Motor City Pride June 7-8 at Hart Plaza in DetroitReid_Sally_115

The Motor City Pride Festival and Parade celebrates its 43rd anniversary Saturday, June 7 and Sunday, June 8, 2014. Heldkeith dalton ad at Detroit’s beautiful Hart Plaza, the annual event attracts thousands of attendees to the live music, DJs, vendors and food. The festival is the largest LGBT celebration in Michigan. The festival is poised to attract more attendees this year because of the stellar music line-up. Featured headliners include Andy Bell (of Erasure), Alex Newell, and Tunde Olaniran, one of Michigan’s fastest rising musicians. The rest of the line-up features some of the state’s best DJs, bands and performers.
Highlights of this year’s event includes:
~A special Detroit unveiling of the Harvey Milk Stamp: On the Main Stage at 2:30 seed05_jen_kat_latoschp.m. June 7, 2014.
~A Pre-parade media event presented by Chrysler Group LLC at 10:00 a.m., June 8, 2014 at Chrysler House.
~A Parade on June 8, 2014. The parade has over 40 companies and nonprofit organizations that are stepping up to show their support for equality in the State of Michigan. The Parade steps off at 11:00 a.m. on Griswold at Fort Street.
~Paradeandrew cissel ad in suit Grand Marshals will be the DeBoer-Rowse family.
~An expanded Family Area that includes face painting, visits by Dr. Dinosaur, puppet shows and a petting zoo.
~An Elder Pavilion that will provide seniors a place to find out more about services available to them along with a place to relax during the festival.
~Over 120 businesses and organizations will be exhibiting at the festival.
~Five stages of entertainment featuring over 100 local and national acts.
