Natural Gas Leak Closes Hilton Road in Ferndale

An early morning gas leak caused authorities to close Hilton Road Tuesday morning.  According to Fire Chief Kevin Sullivan, a call came in at 5:29 AM of natural gas bubbling up through the ground.  The leak occurred on Hilton south of 9 Mile, near Wilson Park
“Initial crews closed Hilton & checked nearby buildings for gas,” Sullivan said.  “They called Consumers Energy and Consumers Energy sent techs out who figured the 6″ main under Hilton was leaking.”
