Ferndale High and Middle School on Lock-down Due to B&E Suspect

UPDATE: The suspect has been captured and the lock-down has been lifted.
An alert sent out by Ferndale Schools at 11:13am notified parents that Ferndale High School and Middle School are locked and secured due to a breaking and entering suspect in the area.
The message stated “Due to a police report of a suspect afoot in the area of Pinecrest and Pearson, the Ferndale High School and Ferndale Middle School Pinecrest campus is now experiencing a ‘shelter in place’ situation where the building doors are locked and students are remaining in their classroom until they receive the ‘all-clear’ from the Ferndale Police Department.
“Police report that an unarmed breaking and entering suspect is a black male wearing a gray hooded sweat shirt and gray sweat pants. JFK and Roosevelt schools also have secured their buildings and will continue their school day as usual with the exception of having an indoor recess.”

According to wxyz.com, three men broke into a home on Hazelhurst. Two were immediately captured and the third was the suspect on the lose.
