An explosion in Royal Oak destroyed a storage shed and caused fire to a neighbor’s garage Tuesday night.
According to officials, at about 6:40 PM, a shed in the backyard of 1221 Alexander caught fire and a full 20 New Harvest Homes NHHlb propane tank inside exploded. The explosion caused the neighbor’s garage at 1217 Alexander, to catch fire as well.
“The shed was completely destroyed, the neighbor’s empty garage suffered considerable damage.  The fire department has not yet determined the source of ignition,” said Judy Davids, Community Engagement Specialist for the city.
There are no reports of injuries.
