Potential Murder-Suicide Investigation in Pontiac

INCIDENT: 13:54 Hours, April 27, 2014 – City of Pontiac- Death Investigation – 14-61413
SUMMARY: Deputies responded to the 90 block of Ridgemont on a report of two people shot. Upon arrival deputies were directed to an upstairs bedroom where a male and a female were found, both suffering gunshot wounds to the head. The female was found on the bed and the male was found behind the door with a rifle lying across his chest. STAR EMS also on scene. Both victims were beyond help and were pronounced by a doctor from McLaren Hospital via telemetry.
OUTCOME OF INCIDENT: Deputies secured the scene and located a 16 year old male witness who also lives at the address. He stated his aunt and her husband were in the bedroom arguing for over an hour. He then heard two gunshots and went upstairs to check on the pair at which time he discovered them shot. He then ran to a relative’s home and called 911. Deputies learned the victims were common law husband and wife. Sheriff’s detectives were notified and responded along with the Sheriff’s Forensic Lab personnel. The Oakland County Medical Examiner also responded to the scene. The preliminary investigation reveals a possible murder / suicide pending the ME’s ruling. The investigation continues.
VICTIM / SUSPECT: Victim #1 – 30 yr. old female resident of Pontiac / Victim #2 (suspect) 26 yr. old male, resident of Pontiac.
