Larceny from Automobile
25352 Woodward (L.A. Fitness), 4-12-14, 5:00 p.m. –5:45 p.m.:
Complainant reported she parked her vehicle in the parking lot and entered the business. When she returned she discovered an unknown suspect had entered her unlocked vehicle and stole her purse. 14-11271
1019 N. Main (Jazzercise), 4-11-14, 5:30 p.m. – 6:20 p.m.:
Complainant reported she parked her vehicle in the rear parking lot of the business. When she returned she gallowaycollens1discovered an unknown suspect had broke the rear passenger window and stole two (2) purses containing an undisclosed amount of currency, credit cards and identification.
A witness reported observing a newer white SUV occupied by a white male wearing a gray shirt and a blue baseball cap parked in the lot prior to the theft. 14-1117
600 block of S. Edison, 4-9-14 – 4-14-14, 6:00 p.m.– 7:30 p.m.:
Complainant reported he parked his vehicle on the street in front of his residence. When he returned he discovered an unknown suspect had stole loose change from his unlocked vehicle. 14-11489ctechad
Larceny
5150 Coolidge (Meijer Gas Station), 4-11-14, 7:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.:
Complainant reported he left his wallet on the counter after he made a purchase and left the station. He returned to the gas station to retrieve his wallet and discovered it was stolen by an unknown suspect.

Malicious Destruction of Property
500 block of S. Center, 4-13-14, 2:29 a.m.:
Complainant reported he hosted a house party and two subjects he didn’t know knocked on his door and were denied entry into the party.
One of the subjects then threw rocks at multiple windows of the residence damaging the screens. Officers seed015_kathryn_balcerresponded to the scene, located the suspect, and arrested him for Malicious Destruction of Property. 14-11355

Powdery Substance Forces Closure of Royal Oak Police Station, 4-15-14, 8:00 a.m.:
The Royal Oak Police Station was evacuated after a
Royal Oak detective opened an envelope containing a white powdery substance.
The Oakway Haz-Mat Response Team, which consists of firefighters from the communities of Royal Oak, Southfield, Madison Heights, Ferndale, Birmingham, Waterford, West Bloomfield, Pontiac, and Bloomfield Township, responded immediately to test the substance and determined it was cornstarch.New Harvest Homes NHH
Approximately 25 people, including two prisoners, were evacuated as a precautionary measure. All 911 and police business calls were transferred to Madison Heights Dispatch during the two-hour shutdown.

Officers stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. The driver pulled over, exited his vehicle and ran from the officers. Officers set up a perimeter and began searching the area. The suspect, a 22-year-old Royal Oak dinos02sidelogo3resident,was located in a nearby apartment building and arrested for Operating While Intoxicated Second Offense and Obstructing a Police Officer. 14-11787
