Orion Township Hit and Run Driver Sought by Sheriffsgallowaycollens1

UPDATED INFORMATION AS OF 12:30 PM TODAY:
Car parts were found at the scene which indicate they may have come
off a 2000 Ford Focus. The vehicle being sought will have damage to
the front corner amber marker light. The amber light will either be
damaged or missing. The right mirror will either be heavily damaged
or missing as well.
The Crash Reconstruction Unit is assisting Deputies from the Orion Township
Substation with the investigation of an injury crash that occurred at approximately
8:15am this morning on Heights Rd just east of Fairledge.
A 35 year old female resident of Orion Township was walking east bound in the east
bound lane of traffic on Heights Rd. She was returning to her home after walking with her
daughter to the bus stop at the corner of Heights and Fairledge. She was in the roadway
when she was struck from behind by an unknown vehicle that fled the scene. Upon
impact she was spun to the ground where she struck her head. A neighbor heard theJudyPalmer01
thud and came out and was able to walk the injured female to her residence to await
medical help.
The Orion Township Fire Department arrived along with STAR ambulance. STAR
Ambulance transported her to McLaren Oakland Hospital in Pontiac for treatment of her
injuries. She was listed in stable condition.
Car parts were found at the scene which may aid in identifying the responsible vehicle
which appears at this time to be a pickup truck or SUV. Anyone with information is

800-SPEAK-UP. There is a $1,000 reward being offered.
