Madison Hts Police Seek Repeat Cigarette Burglar
(Madison Heights Police, Feb. 5, 2014)
Madison Heights Police Department is investigating two burglaries of Detroit Donuts that occurred in the early morning hours on 01/29 and 02/05. In both cases, entry was made through the entry door glass. The laminate glass was pounded out and the suspect entered through the opening. The suspect goes directly to the counter area and fills a plastic shopping bag with cigarettes and then leaves. Only Marlboro and Newport cigarettes were stolen; nothing else was checked or taken by the suspect. Both incidents were captured on video. It appears to be the same suspect for both incidents. The quality of the video is better on the 02/05 incident; the interior light was left on. A suspect vehicle was also seen on the most recent video- it appears to be a minivan or similar vehicle. The vehicle entered the lot from E/B Twelve Mile Rd.
The suspect appears to be a W/M, average height/build. The suspect was wearing a black mask/hat completely covering his face, an oversized dark blue nylon jacket over a gray hoodie, and light, baggy blue jeans. The suspect was also wearing gloves at the time of incident.
Anyone with information is asked to call Madison Heights Police at 248-585-2100.
