Here are four great programs are scheduled at the Berkley Public Library in February.
Solomon Northrup’s America
Tuesday, February 11 at 6:30 p.m.
Join us for a talk on Solomon Northrup, a free black man from upstate New York, who was abducted and sold into slavery. His personal story inspired the popular film 12 Years a Slave. Dr. Roy E. Finkenbine of 
the University of Detroit Mercy will give a fascinating talk on Solomon Northrup, the growing division of America over slavery during that time, and Northrup’s post-slavery efforts to promote abolition and to gain compensation for his enslavement. Family Craft Night
Wednesday, February 12 at 7:00 p.m.
Make a Valentine’s Day decoration and have a special snack. This program is suggested for ages 3 to 12. Children under 5 must be accompanied by a parent, grandparent or caregiver. This program is reserved for Berkley residents, who can register at the Children’s desk or call 248-658-3440.
Music Together
Wednesday, February 19 at 11:00 a.m.
Suzuki Royal Oak Institute of Music will present a sample of their family music class for children ages 0-5. Explore musical play in this one hour fun-filled music and movement class. This program is reserved for Berkley residents, who can register at the Children’s desk or call 248-658-3440.

Thursday, February 20 at 2:00 p.m.
Would you like to get eBooks for your iPad, Kindle or other device? Attend this free class to learn how to download eBooks from the library’s online collection.
