Ferndale Police Report: Most Crime Down but Spike in Drunk Driving

Many of you have been making requests for news, indicating you have not been getting much from local jurisdictions, including Ferndale.
Happily,
criminal incidents have been down recently in Ferndale and there has been little to report.
This weekend did present a spike from normal in drunk driving arrests. After the bone chilling weather we have been dealing with, it seems that the warmth brought many people out with “cabin fever”.
The downtown bar business was exceptionally busy this weekend, both Friday and Saturday nights.
From about 10:00 p.m. Friday (Jan 11th) until about 3:00 a.m. Sunday morning 
(Jan 12), Ferndale Police officers made six traffic stop resulting in drunk driving arrests.
People going out drinking are reminded not to overindulge before driving. Anybody planning to drink with the possibility of becoming intoxicated should make arrangements for a safe ride home. If there is any doubt whatsoever as to whether you or another has had too much to drink, be safe and do not drive.
