Winter Storm Update: Schools Closed, Snow Emergencies DeclaredJim Shaffer ad EDITED

With low temperatures and high snowfall predicted, many cities have issued snow emergencies and school districts have taken the day off Monday.
The National Weather Service is predicting snowfall of 3-7 inches tonight, and temperatures dropping to about 1 degree tomorrow, with wind-chill as low as -21 degrees.  Monday night temperatures could reach HowesLocation-12 degrees, with a wind-chill of -34 and wind gusts as high as 25 m.p.h.
Ferndale, Oak Park, Hazel Park, Royal Oak and Royal Oak Township have declared snow emergencies.  Other cities have as well, check with your city’s website to find out the times and details. When snow emergencies are declared, residents are expected to move vehicles from streets so that workers can plow.
Berkley, Birmingham, Clawson, Farmington, Ferndale, Hazel Park, Holly, Lake Orion, Oak Park, Rochester, Royal Oak, South Lyon, Southfield, Troy and Waterford are among the school districts that have announced a snow day for Monday.
