Larceny
200 N. Main (Emagine Theater), 12-18-13, 11:00pm – 11:59pm: Complainant reported he went to the theater to watch a movie. He placed his wallet in the seat cup holder and it was stolen by an unknown suspect. 13-38510
300 block of N. Washington, 12-22-13, 1:00am – 7:00pm: Complainant reported she invited several friends and acquaintances to her apartment. Later she discovered two (2) gift cards and two (2) bottles of prescription medication were stolen. 13-38908
734 S. Washington (Hooka Joe’s), 12-21-13, 2:30am – 8:30pm: Complainant reported she left her cell phone on a couch inside the business. She returned to the business when it opened later in the day and spoke to an employee. The employee told her the phone was turned over to a female subject claiming the phone belonged to her. 13-38908
5150 Coolidge (Meijer Store), 12-21-13, 7:00pm – 7:30pm: Complainant reported he placed his cell phone in the shopping cart he was using. He left the cart unattended and an unknown suspect stole it. 13-32748
Larceny from an Automobile
700 block of Florence, 12-19-13, 1:00pm – 3:00pm: Complainant reported she parked her car on the street and went into a residence for a few moments. When she returned she discovered an unknown suspect had stolen her purse, cell phone and a Dell laptop computer from the unlocked vehicle. 13-38513
Malicious Destruction of Property
Main & University, 12-25-13, 3:15pm – 6:30pm: Complainant reported she parked her vehicle on N. Main near University and went to the Emagine Theater. When she returned to her vehicle she discovered an unknown suspect cut her passenger side front tire. 13-39014
Other Incidents
Fourth Street and Washington, 12-21-13, 7:40pm: The Royal Oak Police Department is investigating a serious injury accident that occurred in the intersection of Fourth Street and Washington.
The preliminary investigation indicates the 34-year-old driver of a 2013 Dodge Durango was making a left turn from southbound Washington onto eastbound Fourth Street, proceeding on a green light. A 35-year-old female and a 45-year-old male were in the cross walk, crossing Fourth Street on the east side of Washington. The driver of the Durango did not see the pedestrians and struck them with his vehicle, resulting in serious injuries to them.
Both pedestrians were transported to William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak where they are listed in serious condition. The driver of the Durango was not injured. Alcohol was not a factor in the accident. 13-38739
