Suspect Wanted in Pontiac Holiday Party Murderctechad

UPDATE:  Suspect Kerry Holley is in custody.   The Sheriff’s Fugitive Apprehension Team arrested him on California St. in Pontiac late this afternoon.  He is lodged in the Oakland County Jail.

INCIDENT: 20:41 Hrs. – City of Pontiac – Homicide – # 13-195670

 SUMMARY:  Deputies were dispatched to the 30 block of W. Columbia for a report of a subject shot. Upon arrival deputies located the victim in the basement. The victim was transported to McLaren Oakland Hospital where he was pronounced dead. There was a holiday party at the house when the suspect and the victim engaged in a verbal argument. The suspect then began to shoot at the victim in the living room and chased him toward to rear of the house. The suspect then ran out of the rear of the house.

OUTCOME OF INCIDENT: A Sheriff’s K9 track was attempted with negative results. Detectives dinos02sidelogo3responded and interviewed several witnesses. OCSO Forensic Lab investigators responded and processed the scene. The Sheriff’s Fugitive Apprehension Team responded and they are attempting to locate the responsible.

Victim: 34 year old Pontiac resident

ADDED INFORMATION:

 Oakland County Sheriff’s detectives are seeking the public’s help in locating a 46 year old Pontiac man wanted for the murder of 34 year old Hardin Harris, also of Pontiac.

The suspect, Kerry Holley, is wanted for the shooting of Hardin in the 30 block of Columbia on the city’s north side last night at approximately 8:41 pm. He is a black male, 5’11, 160 lbs with short brown hair and essentialshort facial hair. He was last seen wearing blue jeans and a blue hoodie sweatshirt. His photo is attached.

Deputies were dispatched to the home after a caller stated someone had been shot. Deputies located Hardin in the basement suffering from multiple gunshots wounds. He was transported to McLaren Oakland  Hospital where physicians pronounced him deceased.

Witnesses indicate that an argument broke out between Hardin and Holley at which time Holley produced a handgun and began chasing and shooting Hardin. Holley then fled the home on foot and is being sought sidebar011beesponsorby Sheriff’s Detectives. Holley has had numerous contacts with law enforcement in the past, including a 2001 bank robbery conviction for which he served 5 years in prison. He was removed from parole in 2010.
