Ferndale Rotary Pancake Breakfast Brings Out the Best

In the decked-out dining room of Blumz, kind-hearted Ferndalians and friends gathered for the annual Rotary pancake breakfast.  In addition to buying a breakfast of pancakes, sausage and eggs, guests brought winter clothing items for the warming tree.

Scholarship winners Christopher Triplett and Troy Dill-Reese helped serve along with volunteer Jacob Knittel.  High school senior Zena Addae played the harp.

The tradition raises money for the Ferndale Rotary, to help with the following projects:

~DONATING HELMETS FOR THE ANNUAL BIKE RODEO.  Free helmets are given to children to keep them safe while they are riding.  The annual event also offers bike licensing, bike inspections and fun for the kids. (http://oaklandcounty115.com/2012/06/06/safety-and-fun-at-2012-bike-rodeo/)

~ENDING POLIO.  Around the world Rotary is known for eradicating polio with the spread of vaccination.  The Ferndale Rotary, like all Rotary clubs, contributes dues which help finance this effort.
