Free Kids Environmental Calendar, Order Online
(Oakland County Water Resource Commission Press Release, Nov. 24, 2013)
For the ninth year in a row the Oakland County Water Resources Commissioner’s office (WRC) is proud to offer its 2014 Kids’ Clean Water Calendar free of charge to the public. The Kids’ Clean Water Calendar was designed to impress upon young people the importance of protecting our rivers, lakes and streams from pollution in Oakland County and across the region. Nearly 1,000 fourth and fifth grade students from more than forty elementary schools from across Oakland County entered artwork for this year’s calendar.
“The Kids’ Clean Water Calendar is a great way to teach our children the importance of good environmental stewardship and protecting our precious waterways,” said Water Resources Commissioner Jim Nash. He went on to say, “I am pleased to offer this calendar free of charge to folks throughout Oakland County and the region.”
Funding for the printing of the Kids’ Clean Water Calendar and Contest was made possible in part by Pure Oakland Water, a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting Oakland County and regional water resources through public education, community organizing, environmental advocacy and promotion of a sustainable future.
