Ferndale Police Report: Third 7-11 Robbery Suspect ArrestedDENGATE _Fern115_Ad

ROBBERY ARREST:

TAURUS RICHARDSON was arrested at about 1:00 this morning by Detroit police. He was passenger in a vehicle that was stopped for committing a traffic violation. Largely because of the extensive media coverage, RICHARDSON surrendered and confessed to officers before they even knew who he was.

Thank you all for the media coverage. The news stories created an environment that definitely assisted in the ongoing investigations. Additionally, the airing of the story and pictures of mug shots led to citizens providing information possibly tying these suspects to other crimes. New investigations are likely to follow as more citizen tips come in.

Ferndale Police and Oak Park Police are combining investigative efforts to locate one of three suspects who is still at large. He is wanted in connection with a violent, Home Invasion in Oak Park and a Robbery of a 7/11 Store. The perpetrators used a car taken in a car-jacking in Detroit, broke into a home in Oak Park and robbed nicholas-schrock-allstatethe residents, then robbed the 7/11. They fled in the stolen car until they crashed in Detroit. Two suspects were arrested following the chase, the third suspect is still at large.

Anybody with information should phone Ferndale or Oak Park police or CrimeStoppers. An award of $1000 is available.

Taurus Richardson, black male, 11/23/88
