SEMCOG, along with other agencies, has been developing plans for improved mass transit. The proposed project would connect travelers between Detroit and Pontiac in a time frame competitive with automotive traffic and with less stops than the current DDOT and SMART bus systems. A presentation on the RBT system was held in September for Ferndale business owners. Details of that presentation can be found at https://oaklandcounty115.com/2013/09/17/ferndale-businesses-talk-woodward-rapid-transit-video/.

There is also an upcoming open house put on by the Michigan Department of Transportation to discuss the aesthetics of I-75 and to gain public input. That meeting is Tuesday, Nov. 19, with more information at https://oaklandcounty115.com/2013/11/13/your-say-in-the-look-of-i-75-workshop-nov-19/.
