CFF’s Ferndale Election Forums Online Now (video)
(Crystal A. Proxmire, Oct. 29, 2013)
The last of the Ferndale candidate forums is now available online thanks to Citizens for Fair Ferndale and The Dalton Group. The forum took place Oct. 26 and gave the public an opportunity to hear from the four mayoral candidates, the two unopposed city council candidates, and speakers on both sides of the marijuana legalization ballot proposal.
Current Mayor Dave Coulter, Former Mayor Craig Covey and residents Linda Parton and Sherry Wells all took part in the forum for Mayor. Unopposed city council candidates Greg Pawlica and incumbent Melanie Piana had a chance to “ping pong” back and forth on the issues, and for the discussion on Proposal A Police Chief Timothy Collins debated Covey.
Citizens for Fair Ferndale is a community group that promotes fairness in discourse and also is involved in other positive community-building activities like the Civility Project and the Good Neighbor Awards. Learn more about CFF at http://fairferndale.org/.
