Ferndale Police Report: Drunk Driver Hits Police Car and Flees
(Lt. William Wilson, Ferndale Police, Oct.21, 2013)
Ferndale Police arrested a woman Sunday night after she ran a red light and crashed into a police car on 8 Mile road. After the crash, the woman fled the scene. She was caught shortly after. Andreana SEAY, 41, Detroit was arrested for:
1. Leaving the Scene of an accident
2. Driving on a Suspended License
3. Operating Under the Influence of Liquor
4. Several outstanding traffic warrants.
On 10/20/13 at about 11:10 p.m. a Ferndale Officer was driving a patrol car w.b. on 8 Mile at Gardendale when SEAY ran a red light and attempted to cross n.b. across 8 Mile when she struck the patrol car. The patrol car was disabled from the crash. The officer activated his emergency equipment, and SEAY (driving a Buick Rendezvous) fled n.b. on Gardendale. The officer radioed out the suspect vehicle information, and other Ferndale officers found her shortly after. She was driving n.b. on Allen with her lights off. Her vehicle was damaged and leaving a trail of fluid.
Officers found that Seay had 12 current suspensions of her driver’s license and several traffic warrants out for her arrest. She has been previously convicted of DWLS. Investigation indicated she was drunk. She was arrested. No BAC is available as SEAY refused a breath test. Officers obtained a search warrant and blood was taken to be analyzed.
