Ferndale Youth Assistance Bowl-a-Thon Oct. 20
(FYA Press Release, Oct. 11, 2013)
The annual Ferndale Youth Assistance Bowl-A-Thon is being held on October 20, 2013 from 1:00 – 4:00 pm at Luxury Lanes, 600 E Nine Mile, Ferndale, MI. The event is one of the two most important fundraisers each year for Ferndale Youth Assistance (FYA), a charitable program that works with the schools, the local district courts, parents, and city and county government to assist youth with a variety of programs.
Teams of bowlers can form and solicit pledges and donations for FYA. Individuals may also attend and will be assigned to teams. Each bowler is asked to raise a minimum of $50 in pledges, which will provide each bowler 3 games of bowling, shoe rental, food and beverages.
There are also great door prizes.
“Ferndale Youth Assistance is a great local grass roots program that is critical in supporting our youth who will become the leaders of tomorrow. Especially in these tough economic times, any help we can provide is an investment toward a better future for us all,” said Craig Covey, FYA board president and former mayor.
Funds raised help Ferndale Youth Assistance continue many programs for the students and families of the Ferndale School District including counseling, student enrichment scholarships, camp scholarships, trainings, and more.
Companies, businesses, and individuals may also sponsor the event and receive recognition there. The event is open to all, including students.
Persons interested in bowling, volunteering for this event or making a donation may contact Melinda Hicks at 248-586-8700.
Ferndale Youth Assistance is a 501C3 non-profit organization and donations are tax deductible under IRS regulations.
