Ferndale Schools Improvements Being Made Thanks to Bond

The Citizens Bond Oversight Committee toured the Summer 2013 school bond construction projects at University High School, Roosevelt Elementary, and Ferndale High School on Thursday, June 25.
The Citizen’s Bond Oversight Committee is comprised of local Ferndale schools parents, homeowners, and other citizens interested in the progress of school improvements authorized by the 2012 school bond approval.
The summer’s projects include:
–Brand new Kitchens at Roosevelt and University High School
–Air Conditioning units at Roosevelt and Ferndale High School
–Asbestos removal and new flooring and lighting at FMS/FHS
–Renovations to the FHS school auditorium and commons
–Renovation to the FHS school swimming pools, including new piping, bleachers, and lighting
All projects should be complete in time for the start of school in September.
The CBOC Team normally meets every month on the 4th Thursday of the month at 6 PM at the Harding Administration building, before the 6:30 PM meeting of the board of Education operations committee. The next meeting is tentatively scheduled for September 26.
