At UHS, college admission and success are primary goals of every teacher and student. Successful graduates of UHS are assured admission to Lawrence Tech.
University High School is a public high school operated by the Ferndale Public Schools with a mission to ensure all students graduate not only from high school, but from college, as well. UHS was founded in 2005 in a partnership with Lawrence Technological University that provides on-campus and dual enrollment opportunities for UHS students. Five classes of UHS graduates have entered college with an average 99% graduation rate, 100% of students have been accepted to colleges and post-secondary programs, and more than 85% are attending college. UHS graduates report that they have been exceptionally well prepared for their college studies thanks to the excellent teachers and programs. UHS received a national award in 2010 from the National School Boards Association Journal for innovation and success in preparing students for the rigors of college.
