Longtime Principal Jerry Wiese Passes Away

Jerry Wiese, a resident of Commerce Township, died on July 16, 2013. He was 81 years old.
Jerry was born on August 30, 1931 to parents, Leo and Rose (nee. Andrejewski) Wiese in Alpena, Michigan. He attended school at Saint Anne’s Parish in Alpena where he was an altar boy for many years and carried baby Jesus at the Christmas services. Jerry earned his Bachelor degree in Education and his Master degree in School Administration at Michigan State University.
For over thirty three years, Jerry enjoyed his work as a teacher and principal for Ferndale Public Schools. Jerry and Pauline raised their family of three boys in the Farmington area and moved to Commerce Township after Jerry’s retirement in 1991. He loved his cottage on Hubbard Lake near 
Alpena, enjoyed sailing trips on the Lake Michigan with his friends from work and watching all kinds of sports, especially basketball, which he also played in his youth. Jerry will be missed by many, especially his beloved wife of 57 years, Pauline; sons, Michael, Bruce (Sally), Steven (Lisa); grandchildren, Ryan (Amy), Lauren, Jeremy, Emily, Elizabeth; sister, Winifred Kirchoff; brother, Ronald Wieschowski and nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Visitation will be held at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 404 E. Liberty Street, Milford, on Thursday, July 18, 5-9 PM with a Rosary at 7 PM. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church, 1955 E. Commerce Road, Milford, on Friday, July 19, at 11AM with Fr. Manny Chircop officiating. Burial at Milford Memorial Cemetery.
