Teen Hospitalized After Car-Bike Accident on Woodward

A 17-year-old male from Huntington Woods was struck by an SUV on Woodward Tuesday afternoon around 3:15pm near Sylvan in Pleasant Ridge while riding his bike. According to those who know him, the teen is hospitalized with serious injuries, including a head injury.

Ferndale Fire Chief Kevin Sullivan, who is in charge of fire and ambulance services for Pleasant Ridge, confirmed that the youth had “potential serious injury,” but was unable to give specifics.

“He was northbound on Woodward. It appears from the driver crossing Woodward at Sylvan westbound on the green light, that he rode in front of her,” Sullivan said.
