Royal Oak Home Invasion Suspect Sought

On Thursday, July 4, 2013, at 3:00 a.m., Royal Oak Officers responded to a Home Invasion in the 1000 block of Iroquois.
The resident returned home from work and heard someone walking in the upstairs area of his home. He exited the home, went across the street and called the police department.
As the first two officers on the scene began taking up positions to secure the exterior of the residence, the suspect came out the front door. When he was confronted by an officer, he fled the area on foot.
The Royal Oak officers set up a perimeter around the suspects last known location and requested a K-9 Officer respond to the scene. Madison Heights K-9 Officer Louis arrived and began tracking the suspect. The suspect was not located.
The Royal Oak officers’ recovered property stolen from the residence and a handgun stolen from a vehicle the previous day in Rochester Hills.
Further investigation revealed the same subject may be responsible for one (1) other Home Invasion and a breaking and entering of a detached garage in the 1000 block of Iroquois.
The suspect is described as a white male, medium build, 5’8” – 6’0”, 175lbs, 20-25 years-old with dark hair. The suspect was wearing a baseball hat, gray t-shirt, blue jean shorts and white athletic shoes.
