Last night’s “Super Moon” got people excited about getting outside and getting some pictures.  According to WikiPedia “A supermoon is the coincidence of a full moon or a new moon with the closest approach the Moon makes to the Earth on its elliptical orbit, resulting in the largest apparent size of the lunar disk as seen from Earth. The technical name is the perigee-syzygy of the Earth-Moon-Sun system.”

Julia Pevos Sias was driving back to Michigan from Pennsylvania.  “Not the greatest pic but we loved following the beautiful moon on our way home from the east coast. This was shot around 5 am on Highway 90,” Sias said on Facebook.

f115tropicalbluePenne Boucher Caswell, Vagner Whitehead, Bob Giles and Maria Gahry also shared lovely pictures from around the Ferndale area.  Former Ferndalian Janet Kissick Hug shared hers from nearby her new home – Union Lake in West Bloomfield.  Whitehead marveled at the experience. “It felt weird and good walking towards it in the middle of the night, felt peaceful, I almost wanted to knock on people’s door and ask them to join me,” he wrote.
