Soul Explosion Rocks Library Summer Concert (video)
(C. Proxmire, June 19, 2013)
The Summer Concert Series at the Ferndale Public Library has begun, with a performance by Soul Explosion Tuesday night. The jazz group played to a packed community center room, reminding everyone that FPL is not your typical “quiet” library.
Kelly Bennett, head of circulation for the library, captured some of the evening’s cultural experience in videos posted to Facebook. Events like this one are supported by fundraisers at the library and by the Friends of the FPL group.
On Tuesday, July 16, Obed Sucarri will play Latin and World music, and on August 13 CelloBella, a cello and guitar duet, will bring their unique spin on jazz, pop and country music. All three shows are free and open to the public.
