All school district parents , other parents, high school students, teachers and district staff, administrators and board members, as well as community members are invited to the third of four public Champions Meetings Thursday, June 6 at 6:30 pm at Coolidge Intermediate School.
The Champions Meetings are “town hall” style meetings that will help define the future of our schools. Everyone who attends will have a chance to participate in the process. At Thursday’s meeting, the Strategic Plan consultant Charlie Fleetham and his team will discuss the “District of the Future.”
All Champions Meetings will be held at Coolidge Intermediate School, at 2521 Bermuda between E. Drayton and E. Oakridge and begin at 6:30 pm. Because parking is limited at Coolidge, we’ve asked the Ferndale Police to allow parking along East Oakridge and East Drayton for these meetings. Please plan to carpool, bike or walk, if possible. If you are interested in free childcare for children 3 to 12, please call 248-586-8686 and leave a message with your children’s ages and your name.
Want to Know More? It’s all online. If you would like more information about the Strategic Plan, all of the eNews articles about the process, letters from our Steering Committee Board members, PLUS handouts from the meetings are posted on the Strategic Plan 2013 page of our website at: http://www.ferndaleschools.org/administration/strategic_plan.html
Video recordings are being made of these meetings, and the first meeting, “What Did They Hear?” from May 9, is now airing on the district cable channel immediately following the Board of Education meetings. The schedule is 5 am, 11 am, 4 pm, 8 pm. The current Board meeting is 2 ½ hours and the Champions meeting runs 1 ½ hours. Additional Champions Meetings will be added to the rotation as they become available.
