(Ferndale Schools, May 7, 2013)
Ferndale High School has a new program to acknowledge students and staff who are caught doing an act of kindness. Those individuals are given a kindness card. When students receive three kindness cards, they receive a rubber wristband and their name on the marquee outside the school.
More than 50 cards have been given out to date. FHS has a designated area called the Kindness Corner with all the names of those who have received a kindness card.
The first recipient, Chantez Chaney, will have his name on the marquee for receiving his third respect card.
The Kindness Corner is set up through the School Climate Team of the FHS Data Teams: Gayle Minneci, Stephanie Pitcher, Kim Ellis, Terri Colbert, Leslie Miller, Dave Garlow, Charlotte Oliver & Casey Gregg.
