The National Conference for Media Reform is less than three weeks away! Thanks to advertising purchases by readers and local businesses I’ve raised almost enough money to be able to make it. The tickets are paid for and I’ll be making it out there safely. Now it’s just a matter to pay for the hotel room and if I plan on eating on the six days I’m gone. These are probably important too, so I hope that some of our 8,000 readers will consider stepping up and chipping in.
You can chip in any amount through the pay pal button below. For those who contribute $15 or more, you will get a custom-designed “Thank You” ad, like you may have noticed around the site lately. These ads are a great way to show your support and to be part of The Ferndale 115! Any amount is appreciated and will be put to good use.
The conference is in Denver, and features workshops and presentations that will help make The Ferndale 115 News even better. Topics like “Grassroots funding for journalists and media-makers,” “Making media, making change: journalism that solves problems,” and “Your video doesn’t need to suck” will help us grow this grassroots project. The conference also has tech labs and other instructional sessions, as well as a chance to mingle with others who are doing similar projects in their communities.
Learn more about the conference by checking out its website at http://conference.freepress.net/ncmr-2013. To see who else in Ferndale has chipped in, visit our Thank You page at https://oaklandcounty115.com/reader-support/. If you are a business who wants to become an advertising sponsor, find more information at https://oaklandcounty115.com/become-a-sponsor/.
Thanks again to everyone who is making this trip possible! I look forward to bringing back this knowledge to share with our community.
