Police Report: Parolee Arrested After High Speed Chase
(Lt. William Wilson, Feb. 22, 2013)
On 02/21/13 at about 4:30 p.m. a Ferndale office attempted to stop a vehicle for speeding on 8 Mile Road. The driver of the speeding car (TAYLOR) pulled over onto Fair St.. When the officer began to walk up to the vehicle, Taylor sped off. He fled through residential streets, ran stop signs, and drove recklessly until driving down a dead end that ran into a hill alongside the railroad tracks (in front of 1111 E. 8 Mile). The officer pinned the suspect in and arrested him.
Taylor is on parole for convictions including armed robbery. He was driving with an open beer and had a suspended driver’s license.
The case has been turned over to the Prosecutor for a determination of charges and the MDOC has placed a parole hold on Taylor. Arraignment is expected this afternoon.
