The Art of Holiday Flower Delivery
Sending flowers is a great way to surprise someone with a memorable gift, for Christmas, birthdays, congratulations, and other sentimental moments.
But some may not know the ins and outs of ordering before the holidays. There is still time to make it before Christmas, as the festive folks at Blumz by JRDesigns, Floral and Event Professionals have reminded their fans on Facebook. Owners Robbin Yelverton and Jerome Raska have shared the following tips to help make holiday floral orders as simple as possible:
1. Delivery dates need to be flexible since floral shops in more rural areas may be closing Sunday and Monday before Christmas.
2. ALWAYS give a second choice. Or allow “As Similar As Possible.” Many shops will be running out of specific flowers, containers, and plants. Keep the order as general or “open” as possible.
3. Make sure you give phone numbers, yours as well as the recipients! Very important! Cell phones are better. Work numbers only work when there is someone to answer the phone. Since the holiday sort of falls over a weekend and Monday/Tuesday, many businesses will be closed.
4. Never assume that flowers or gifts can be “left on the porch” if no one is home. Weather, security and other factors may deem that a delivery cannot be left safely. Allow the delivery person to use their best judgment.
5. Finally… remember, it’s the thought that counts! As much as we would love to be able to accommodate every request in a twinkling of an eye, it is not always within our control. Blumz will always do the very best we can to make sure that the flowers you ordered make it on time and in great condition to the person you intended.
The tips allow for flexibility in the flower shop, and can save you the stress of dealing with follow up phone calls and confusion. For more information about Blumz, check out their website at http://www.blumz.com/.
