Police Report: Intoxicated Suspect Caught Racing on 8 Mile with a Pistol

SUSPECT: WILLIAMS, Dexter Fernando, b/m, 44yrs.
On 11/29/12 at shortly after 4:00 a.m. Ferndale Officers arrested Williams for OWI 3rd Offense and for Carrying a Concealed Weapon (Pistol).
A Ferndale officer noticed two vehicles racing on e.b. 8 Mile road at speeds of near 100 mph. The officer radioed for another patrol car and officers were able to stop one of the racing vehicles (a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado) on 8 Mile near the east border of Ferndale. The driver of the vehicle was Williams.
Officers made contact with the driver and returned to their patrol cars to run computer checks. One of the officers notices suspicious movement by Williams and watched him from outside of the car. Williams had a handgun (Smith & Wesson revolver) and tried to hide it under the car seat. The officer arrested Williams.
Williams registered a .21 on the breathalyzer. He had two prior drunk driving convictions and his license was suspended.
Magistrate Brennan arraigned Williams on the below charges and set bond at: $15,000 cash/surety.
