Meet the Ferndale School Board Candidates

Voters in the Ferndale School District will have the opportunity on Nov. 6 to vote for up to four representatives to the School Board. There are four open seats on the board, and eight candidates running.
The candidates have formed “slates.” This means that candidates have teamed up to run based on their similar viewpoints.
Citizens for Better Education is endorsing three incumbents and one political newcomer. Current School Board President Keith Warnick, Board Treasurer Jim Pfleger, and Board Secretary Katrina Collins are seeking re-election. Brad Parks is also running on this slate.
Members of CLEAR are seeking a change in leadership. Running together as “BOLD,” each candidate’s name represents an initial of the acronym. Amy “B”utters, Jim “O”Donnell, Raylon “L”eaks-May, and Kevin “D”eegan-Krause are running on this slate.
Voters are not obligated to vote in a block.
The League of Women Voters Oakland Area (LWVOA) is Sponsoring a Candidate Forum for Ferndale School Board Thursday, October 18th at 7pm at the Ferndale City Hall, 300 E. Nine Mile Road, Ferndale, MI.
On Sunday, October 28, 2012, Citizens for a Fair Ferndale (CFF) will hold a School Board Candidate Forum at the Ferndale Library at 1pm. The event will also be recorded and submitted to WFRN for airing until Election Day.
The Ferndale PTA Council is sponsoring a Candidate Forum for Ferndale School Board on Monday, October 29th at 6:30 pm at the Ferndale High School, 881 Pinecrest, Ferndale, MI in the MEDIA CENTER
