City Attorney Dan Christ has been busy preparing a batch of ordinance changes which the City of Ferndale adopted at the Aug. 13, 2012 City Council Meeting. Four approved code changes involve the operation of motor vehicles, and their enactment means that the City can capture more revenue.
My grandkids love me (“Pa”). I may be escorting one to Ferndale pre-school soon!
My years of sales experience have given me the ability to quickly see the big picture and make common sense decisions about the steps needed to take to have a positive outcome for all those affected. Common sense, knowledge and understanding of the issues are my strongest abilities.
Ferndale Public Schools and its leaders are at a crossroads. One road leads to active engagement by the School Board and better schools for our children. The other road is the path we are on, one of complacency and no clear direction.
I am running for a position on the Ferndale School Board because I choose the first road for my district and my children. I choose to face and acknowledge our challenges as a community. I choose to engage others within the District in my search for solutions
What you see is what you get – I have no hidden agendas and no further political aspirations beyond continuing to serve on our School Board. I will always be prepared for every meeting and every vote. I am a fiscal conservative and will do everything in my power to see that this District lives within its means.
As a mother of young children, I plan to be involved in this district and community for a very long time. The Ferndale School district and community is blessed with strong parental involvement and the gift of diversity. I appreciate the gifts that this community has to offer and will advocate to see to it that this gem is preserved!
I understand the issues involved in the district from all sides. I believe strongly that the entire district must be represented, and that everyone has something to bring to the table….A rising tide lifts all boats, and working together we can achieve great things.
We need a school district that builds the minds and hearts of our children and strengthens our community. We need a district of such excellence that it is the natural first choice for every parent in the district. We need a district with such a commitment to equity and community responsibility that others hold us up as a model.
Having been on the Board for five years I want to continue working to keep Ferndale Public Schools one of the best full service school districts in the state….Experience and commitment are why you should vote for me.
I have three daughters in Ferndale schools and I want to play a part in ensuring the quality of our district. I want to offer my skills that equip me to communicate clearly with all parties striving toward the common goal of a strong school district.
