Library Changes Hours Starting Sept. 4

Library Changes Hours Starting Sept. 4

(Ferndale Public Library Press Release, The Ferndale 115 News, Aug. 9, 2012)

The Ferndale Public Library, in response to a recent public survey, will reconfigure operating hours to serve more patrons. The library’s new hours will be Mon. through Thu. 10:00 am to 8:00 pm and Fri. and Sat. 10:00 am to 6:00 pm.

While this is a net decrease of 1.5 hours, the increase of hours on Fri. and Sat. will likely please many patrons who have wanted more weekend hours. Library Board President Jim O’Donnell said, “The board was pleased to have approved this new schedule. It will allow more people to visit the library, fills an important need identified in the recent patron survey, and will also help address several strategic plan goals to increase access, programs, services and the book collection. This is a net benefit to the community, and the board, library director and staff will continue to develop and execute a plan to add hours and make further improvements for library patrons.”

The new hours will go into effect on Tue. Sep. 4, after the Labor Day holiday.

New Library Hours

Monday – Thursday 10:00am – 8:00pm

Friday & Saturday 10:00am – 6:00pm

Sunday – CLOSED
