CFF’s “Civility Project” Kick Off  – July 10

(From CFF Press Release, Ferndale 115 News, July 9, 2012)

Citizens for Fair Ferndale has received funding to sponsor The Civility Project – a community wide conversation to consider how to best create and promote our own culture of civility.  The goal is to strengthen the capacity of our community to engage in fair, honest, inclusive, and constructive conversations.

The first event is on Tuesday, July 10 from 6:30 until 8:00 in the evening at the Ferndale Public Library (registration and refreshments begin at 6:00 p.m.).

CFF is pleased to have Kent Roberts, founder of the National Civility Center and author of “Bring a Dish to Pass” as our guest facilitator for the evening. This event is open to the public.

The Civility Project has many resources on their website, including the Civility Pledge, which states:

“In all of my daily interactions I pledge to do my best to:

~View everyone in positive terms

~Work on building common language

~Build strong relationships of trust

~Remember our shared humanity

~Value both the process and the results

~Look both inside and outside for guidance.
