For the third year in a row, Go Comedy! is joining the Ferndale Library to celebrate Ferndale Reads with an original improvised production based on the library’s selected book, “The Local News” by Miriam Gershow. Survived By… will debut Thursday, March 8 with performances through March 29. In conjunction with the Ferndale Library’s Ferndale Reads program, Go Comedy! presents Survived By… a darkly-comedic, improvised look at the lives of those left behind. The fully improvised show is inspired by the book “The Local News” by Miriam Gershow, selected by the Ferndale Library as the official book of the 2012 Ferndale Reads program. Directed by Pj Jacokes (Ferndale), Survived By… features Michelle GiOrlando (Royal Oak), Louie Krause (Wayne), Matt Naas (Ferndale), Chris Petersen (Ann Arbor), and Tara Rase (Plymouth). The show appears Thursday nights at 8 p.m. March 8 – 29 and tickets are $5 or FREE with a any Library Card.
Apocalypse Pending Immediately following Survived By… on Thursday nights, Go Comedy! is proud to present its first original sketch comedy written and performed by Go U! The Improv Academy’s Advanced 5 graduating class. Apocalypse Pending is a sketch comedy revue that reminds us to laugh fast, the world is ending. Written by this term’s Go U! graduating class; RJ Cach (Dearborn), Lisa Jacokes (Ferndale), Jessie Kunneth (Ferndale), John Lewis (Royal Oak), Jessica Loria (Oak Park), Amy Purcell (Royal Oak), Bill Tebo (Ferndale), and Allison Tomak (Royal Oak), the show is directed by Jen Hansen (Madison Heights) and appears at 9 p.m. Thursdays March 8 – 29. Tickets are $5.
