Relay for Life Informational Event
(Crystal A. Proxmire, Ferndale 115 News, March 15, 2012 ed.)
Organizing has begun for this year’s Relay for Life. The annual 24-hour event has teams from all over Ferndale and beyond taking pledges and walking all night to remind people that cancer never sleeps.
The kick-off informational event takes place on Tuesday, March 20 at 6pm at the Taft Education Center (724 Allen). Here you can learn how to become a volunteer, be honored as a cancer survivor or caregiver, bring your teammates and register your team.
Refreshments will be served, and there will be prizes throughout the evening.
The 2012 Relay For Life Ferndale takes place on June 9-10, 2012 10:00 am – 10:00 am at Ferndale High School. Participants form teams, collect pledges, walk the high school’s track, and enjoy other activities. Money raised goes to the American Cancer Society.
