Police Report: Same Robber Hits Huntington Again
(Lt. William Wilson, Ferndale Police Dept, Feb. 15, 2012 ed)
In less than a month, Huntington Bank at 306 W. 9 Mile was robbed for the second time yesterday, Tuesday Feb.7, 2012 . The robbery occurred at about 4:40 p.m. when the same person who robbed the bank on January 13th presented a teller with a note demanding money. The teller gave the man some cash and he left through the back door into the Withington parking lot.
This same person is also wanted for the November 19, 2011 robbery at the CVS store located at 900 W. 9 Mile.
In the first two robberies (CVS and the bank), the criminal wore similar clothing. He changed apparel for the latest robbery.
In yesterday’s robbery the suspect was described as:
Black male, light skinned
Unshaven with stubble
Mid 30’s to 40’s
5’10 – 5’11”
Wearing: Light tan hooded sweatshirt with a green garment underneath, blue jeans, black gloves, and black sunglasses.
In all robberies, a gun was implied. Citizens should consider this person armed and dangerous and should not approach him, but phone the police (911) if they have contact with him.
Security camera’s have not captured a clear picture of the suspect, but there is enough that a person knowing the thief might recognize him.
REWARD: Anybody with information should phone Ferndale Police (248-541-3650) or CrimeStoppers (1-800-Speak up). Huntington Bank is offering $5000 reward for information leading to an arrest and Crimestoppers will pay $1000 for information leading to an arrest. TOTAL REWARD: $6000
