Clothing Swap to Benefit John F Kennedy Elementary School’s PTA
(Loving Touch Press Release, Feb. 1, 2012 ed)
Krista Johnston, fundraising chairperson of JFK’s PTA is trying to keep the “fun” in fundraising. A clothing swap is a great way to liven up a winter wardrobe, help kids and have a fun night in the process.
Guests bring currently fashionable, slightly used ladies clothing, accessories, shoes, purses, jewelry, belts (no undergarments please) to The Loving Touch on Saturday, Feb 4th.
Friendly volunteers will arrange the donations while guests receive a welcome cocktail sponsored by Hard Luck Candy Vodka, munch on appetizers and desserts by local restaurants and receive free mini spa services by Ferndale’s finest establishments. Guests are then able to shop the clothing donations and take home whatever suits them for free!
All leftover items are donated to a local women’s shelter.
There is a $15 cover charge for those guests bringing at least five items of clothing or accessories to swap and $20 for those empty handed. All door funds go to JFK’s PTA. Free mini services include make-up and nail polish changes by Rouge, chair massages by Greenleaf Bodyworks, henna hand art by Alchemy and hair by Flip. Delicious desserts are provided by Cupcake Station, Peteet’s Cheesecakes and Treat Dreams. Appetizers are provided by Woodward Avenue Brewers and The Emory. Flowers are provided by Blumz and there will also be psychic readings available for a nominal fee.
The event will be held at The Loving Touch (22634 Woodward) in Ferndale from 6pm-10pm. Clothing drop off is from 6-7pm. Shopping will start at 7:30pm. This is a ladies only, 21 and over event. Anyone with questions can contact Krista Johnston at krista@thewabsite.com.
