New Years Eve in Ferndale is Inexpensive and Charitable
(Crystal A. Proxmire, 12/30/2011)
With many New Year’s Eve options in Ferndale, it can be hard to decide what to do. Thankfully the DDA (Downtown Development Authority) has organized a night of fun and charity that involves several local watering holes. Plus there is only a $5 charge to participate, and the money raised goes to help the Make a Wish foundation.
The evening kicks off at Rosie O’Grady’s at 7pm for munchies and a performance by “The Reefermen.”
Then it’s off to the Grasshopper Underground at 8:15 for Drink Specials, and at 9:30 the party moves to Como’s for more of the same.
At 10:45 it’s down to Sneakers for karaoke, snacks and more drink specials. As midnight draws near, head down to Dino’s for a champagne toast and a Coney buffet, with festivities carrying on until 4am. Beloved local band Bocco will be there as well.
Wristbands will be available at all locations. Hop around Ferndale for this low-cost, community-wide celebration, and start the new year helping sick kids get their wishes.
For those who are looking for a safe alternative to driving drunk, consider calling Designated Driver Services at 248-978-1767. For a fee, someone will come and drive you in your own vehicle. Services are available 24/7 and their website is http://www.designateddriverservices.biz/index.html.
Michigan Green Cabs can also be used. Their number is Call 1-877-GRN-TAXI (1-877-476-8294) and their website is http://www.migreencabs.com/.
