Medical Emergency Blocks W. 9 Milemodern tax

(Crystal A. Proxmire, 12/22/2011)

West 9 Mile was blocked for about 20 minutes as a fire engine, a police car, and an ambulance responded to reports of a man passed out in the back of a gray Dodge Durango.  The rescue happened at about 4:30 in the evening.

Traffic was reduced to one lane as Ferndale Police directed cars through one direction at a time.

Witnesses say that a male was removed from the Durango, put into the ambulance, and transported to the hospital.  The Fire Department’s Sgt. Ken Kronner confirmed that there was a medical emergency, but was unable to give specifics.  It appeared that family members were looking through the vehicle.
