(City of Ferndale Press Release, 9/21/2011)
Ferndale City Council will be holding a special City Council meeting on Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at 7:00pm to discuss the power outage that occurred from July 20 to July 23, 2011. “This will be an opportunity for DTE to discuss what occurred over the summer and address the concerns our residents have,” said Mayor Dave Coulter. “Residents have been frustrated with the recent power outages and want answers.”
The intent of the meeting is to discuss the report that DTE offered at the July 25, 2011 City Council meeting that has detail about what events occurred in July, causing many residents to lose power during one of the hottest weeks of the summer. “Not only will this be an opportunity to hear what happened but learn more about the short and long term goals that DTE has to address what is perceived as aging infrastructure,” stated Coulter.
This special meeting will be televised on the City’s cable station and will be held in the Council Chambers. This meeting is open to the public.
