In the early morning hours on Sunday, 08/21/11, Ferndale Police responded to William Beaumont Hospital to meet with a man who was the victim of an armed robbery that occurred on Paxton / 9 Mile near the Credit Union 1.

At about 4:00 a.m. the man was looking for an ATM and stopped his car on the street. When he did, a b/m opened his car door and got into the victim’s Camero.

The robber threatened the victim with a handgun and demanded his money and car. He then had the victim drive down the street. During the encounter, the robber struck the victim in the face and head with the gun on several occasions.

The victim fought the assailant for the gun. During the fight, the victim bit the suspect on the right hand and the suspect bit the victim’s nose. The robber then fled from the victim’s car. The victim is a 54 year old Detroit man. He was treated and released from the hospital.
