Ferndale Schools Activities Cancelled for Thursday

All Ferndale Schools activities are cancelled for Thursday, July 21, 2011, due to power outages and the extreme heat advisory. This includes all summer school programs; all sports practices and activities, and summer band/orchestra. All activities will resume on Friday, July 22.

While some areas of the community remain out of power, the DTE expects to have everything restored by Thursday 11pm. Read more here.

Some businesses in Downtown Ferndale are still without power, but whether there is power or not, Fido Does Ferndale will continue says the Downtown Development Authority.  Read about this event here.

The Kulick Community Center is open and with air conditioning for those who need to stay cool.  Recreation Director Julie Hall says there are at least 18 people taking shelter from the heat.  Read more here.
