On 06-19-11 at 04:26 a.m. hours a Ferndale Police officer was patrolling the area of the municipal parking lot north of Nine Mile and east of Woodward when he was flagged down by a 55 year old Ferndale resident reporting that he had just been robbed by a man with a gun of his money. The victim pointed to the suspect that was walking away north in the parking lot. The officer drove into the parking lot and observed the suspect approach and open the left-rear passenger door of a vehicle parked in the parking lot. The suspect threw an object into the car. The suspect then continued walking northeast through the parking lot toward the alley. When the officer ordered the suspect to stop the suspect then ran from the officer through the parking lot toward Nine Mile & Woodward.
The driver of same vehicle that the suspect had placed an item in started the vehicle and drove to Woodward and Vester where the suspect on foot entered the car. The Police Officer blocked the suspect vehicle with the patrol car to prevent the suspects from driving away. Officer was able to arrest both suspects. Officers recovered the handgun used in the robbery and recovered the stolen cash. Officers also found a loaded sawed-off 16 gauge shotgun in the suspect vehicle.
The information was presented to the Office of the Oakland County Prosecutor requesting warrants. The Prosecutors office prepared Warrants charging the suspects.
BEINVILLE H. ALEXANDER SR. age 45 of Flint, Michigan, the alleged suspect that robbed the victim, is charged with three counts:
1) Robbery Armed- Life or any term of years;
2) Possession of Firearm in Commission of Felony-Two years consecutive;
3) Possession of Loaded Firearm in or Upon A Vehicle-Two year Felony.
BEINVILLE H. ALEXANDER II, age 21 of Flint, Michigan, the driver of the suspect vehicle is charged with one count:
1) Carrying Concealed Weapon- Five year Felony
On 6/20/2011 at 2:30 p.m. the Defendants were arraigned in the 43rd District Court-Ferndale Division by Magistrate J. Patrick Brennan. Bond was set at $75,000 (no 10%) for ALEXANDER SR. Bond was set at $25,000 (no 10%) for ALEXANDER II. The Defendants are scheduled to appear June 30, 2011 at 1:00p.m. in the 43rd District Court for Preliminary Examination.
