Sing-a-long with Joe Reilly(April 20)

Sing-a-long with Joe Reilly(April 20)

(Crystal A. Proxmire, 4/20/2011)

The middle of Earth Week 2011 peaks with a sing-a-long concert at the Ferndale Public Library with environmental songwriter Joe Reilly.  Reilly has traveled around Michigan and beyond singing about the Earth, and he will be at the Library on Wed. April 20 from 6:15pm-7pm for a FREE show as part of the FESC [Ferndale Environmental Sustainability Commission]’s Green Week celebration.

“I sing for people of all ages, original songs that celebrate our inter-connections with the earth and with each other,” Reilly said. “My performances are interactive and educational.”  The 32-year-old singer/songwriter grew up in Kalamazoo and currently lives in Ann Arbor.  Since 2001 he has regularly produced CDs that combine his love for the world with his love for music.  And his easy-to-follow folk songs get kids (and adults) in the mood for recycling, planting seeks and caring about nature.
