FernCare Free Health Series: Don’t Get up! Sit Down! Yoga Works!

As part of their on going “Let’s Talk Health” discussion series, FernCare is presenting a class on sit-down yoga, which is a healthy exercise for nearly anybody. This fun and easy activity is presented by Dewey Ames, a certified Yoga instructor.

The class is FREE and takes places on Saturday, April 16, 2011 from 10:30 – 11:30 am at the Kulick Community Center at 1201 Livernois in Ferndale.

FernCare Board President Ann Heler is urging people to take advantage of the free class. “Yoga really is for everyone,” Heler said. “Weight, health issues, old injuries and “out of shape” can be accommodated with this exercise and stretching system. NO pain and very easy to learn.”

FernCare is a free medical clinic, open to individuals without insurance, 19 through 64 years of age. The clinic is temporarily being held at the Kulick center while the group awaits the completion of construction on their long-term home on E. 9 Mile.
