On Thursday, March 17, the district teachers and employee of the year were surprised by Superintendent Gary Meier!
Elementary Teacher of the Year — Johnny Borg,physical education teacher at Roosevelt Primary School
Middle School Teacher of the Year — Rick Piornack, English teacher at FMS
High School Teacher of the Year — David Gardner, English teacher at University High School
District Employee of the Year — Jackie Stroker, Office Manager in the Superintendent’s Office.
Congratulations to these four deserving members of the Ferndale Schools staff! All nominees have been submitted to Oakland Schools for County-level teacher and employee of the year recognition in their respective categories.
